Things Personal Branding Agencies Should do for You

If you want to make sure your business is the talk of the town, then it’s time to start thinking about personal branding. With personal branding, you can show off who you are and what your company stands for.

But what exactly do personal branding agencies do… and how do I know if I need one?

What Is A Personal Branding Agency?

A personal branding agency specializes in helping companies create an identity that is unique to them.

They will work with you to create a design that reflects your company’s values and goals, as well as its target audience. This could include creating a logo, tagline, website design, or even developing digital content such as videos or podcasts.

Additionally, these agencies can provide social media management services and develop strategies for engaging customers online.

Here at Media Maven, we help business owners build their personal brands if they want to be seen as a thought leader in their industry, sell more non-fiction books, stand out as someone credible with authority in their niche as a keynote speaker… you get the point.

We do this by building the online presence as an expert by earning them interview opportunities on podcasts, TV shows, and online articles. We also ghostwrite articles to be placed on popular websites that showcase them as contributors.

Going Inside a Personal Brand in the Making

Hi. I’m Christina, the owner of Media Maven. My own personal brand has been the reason I have succeeded as a small business owner.

For example, writing SEO-researched blog posts like one draws people to my website thanks to search engines and algorithms. Thought leaders, keynote speakers, and other business leaders may stumble upon it, find true value, and want to add content creation like this to their marketing strategy.

Another thing that has worked well for me is being a guest on many podcasts that corporate executives, service providers, and potential clients listen to. A few years after making the rounds on podcasts like Smart Passive Income, EO Fire, Boss Babe, and Duct Tape Marketing, I started my own podcast, Become a Media Maven.

Things Personal Branding Agencies Should do for You

Depending on where you are in your professional career, you may need a few of these things… or you may need all of them. This list of personal branding services will ensure you’re in the right place if you want to step up your digital strategy and brand positioning.

The best way to build a strong personal brand is to use this checklist as a guide:

1. Strategic Planning

Before you start anything, you need to have a strategic plan. A well-thought-out plan will help guide your decisions and ensure that you are making the most of your resources.

Step One: Set Your Goals

Before you start crafting your marketing plan, it’s important to have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish. Are you looking to increase brand recognition? Drive more traffic to your website? Or acquire new customers? Knowing what goals you want to achieve will help inform every decision you make moving forward.

Step Two: Identify Your Target Audience

Having a clear understanding of who you are targeting with your marketing efforts is key to success. Think about who is likely to be interested in your product or service and create a detailed profile that includes demographic information, their interests, and their pain points. This will help ensure that all of your efforts are directed toward people who are actually interested in what you have to offer.

Step Three: Research Your Competition

It’s important to know what other companies in your industry are doing when it comes to marketing so that you can stand out from the competition. Take some time to look into how they market their products or services and identify any areas where they may be lacking. This can provide valuable insights into how you should position yourself in the marketplace and where there may be opportunities for growth.

Honestly, step three is one I don’t do, but know many others suggest it, but I prefer my tunnel vision on my goals and audience.

2. Start Executing Marketing Campaigns

I’m big on action. If you don’t take action, you won’t know what works, what doesn’t and how to move forward. Know that you’ve done some planning, don’t get stuck in analysis paralysis!

Conduct Research

Once you have established the goals of your campaign, it is time to do some research on potential markets and audiences that would be most receptive to your message.

This research should include analyzing current trends in your industry as well as looking at competitors’ campaigns for ideas on how they reached their audience. Utilizing data points like demographics, customer behavior, and purchase history can also provide valuable insights into which strategies are likely to work best with different target audiences.

Make sure you take the time to gather as much information as possible before moving forward with any decisions regarding how you will execute your campaign.

Create Content

The next step is my favorite – creating content! You want to make sure that it resonates with your target audience. Be sure that each piece of content is tailored towards the specific goal you are trying to accomplish whether it be increasing awareness or driving more conversions from leads into customers.

The idea is to take people on a journey of building trust with your content. Whether it’s through text in a blog post, your voice on a podcast, speaking on stage or in video, or promoting your own business on a landing page set up by a PR firm – always go back to your goal every step of the way.

Select Channels

Once all pieces of content have been created it is then time to choose which channels will disseminate them across different platforms so they can reach their intended audience in an organized manner.

You should consider how best to communicate with them through various channels such as email campaigns, organic social media posts, digital ads, or even direct mailers depending on which platform works best for reaching them effectively.

When it comes to social networks, don’t try to build the brand of a leader on all social media platforms. Instead, focus on LinkedIn only. Or just YouTube. Or just your own podcast. After you have years of experience serving your audience’s specific needs on one platform, it’ll be easy to grow on others from there.

3. Perfect Your Marketing Materials

Today, marketing materials are so many things. They’re not just business cards and a graphic design with your brand colors and an impressive logo. Social media profiles are digital marketing materials… and one of the most important things you can focus on online when it comes to being found in search results.

Also, don’t forget to do things like,

  • Optimizing an old blog post (or two)
  • Ensuring your brand story is on your website’s about page
  • Committing to sharing your deep understanding of your industry
