LinkedIn SSI Score
I’m going to tell you a little bit more about it after I tell you about this secret tool that you probably did not even know existed on LinkedIn. It is called the LinkedIn Social Selling Index or LinkedIn SSI and it is actually judging you and keeping score on how good of a job you’re doing on LinkedIn to sell yourself socially and LinkedIn is measuring you on four different things.
One, your professional brand.
Two, finding the right people.
Three, engaging with insights.
Four, building relationships.
So to break down what this means, I’m actually going to go into my LinkedIn and I’m going to show you my SSI score and break down what it means for me and what I’m going to do based on this score.
So the first thing I’m going to do is I’m going to start on my profile and then I’m going to go up here and I’m going to backtrack a little bit in the URL. I’m going to go all the way back to just LinkedIn.com/and then I’m going to type in “sales/SSI” for Social Selling Index and hit enter and this is going to bring up my social selling dashboard.
So I can see here I ranked in the top 1% of my industry and I’m also ranking in the top 1% of my network. So that’s great, but there’s still room for improvement because when I look down here, I only score 79 out of 100, so I know there’s room for improvement and those four points are here: Establishing your professional brand, finding the right people, engaging with insights, and building relationships.
I’m pretty good at building relationships. I have a 25 out of 25.
There’s little room for improvement with engaging with my insights and establishing my professional brand.
But where I need the most help is finding the right people. Because here you can see I only have 13, so if I click on “finding the right people”, LinkedIn is actually going to tell me step by step what I can do to increase my chances of finding the right people so I can bring the score up. And of course, as you bring the score up and you’re going to have more right people following you and then your business is going to grow.
So I want to make sure that I’m following LinkedIn’s recommendations on how I can find the right people. And then, you can even scroll down and find more information.
So I can see my weekly social selling index and they can see how the numbers are slowly increasing and getting better. So that’s good. And then I can look at people in my industry.
So I ranked in the top 1% of people in my industry. Most people in my industry scored 29 out of 100. People in my network, 48 out of 100 and I’m up 1% since the last week. So actually last week, I was 2% and now I’m at 1% because I’ve been keeping an eye on my LinkedIn Social Selling Index and I know I need to better some things to increase my social selling on the platform.
So this is how you can find out what your LinkedIn SSI score is and how you can make it better.
