Instagram influencer marketing works. It really does, but a lot of people are complaining because they’re saying that they’re trying it and it’s just not working.

That’s because you’re doing it wrong. So, I’m actually going to take you inside my Instagram account and I’m going to show you how to ensure you are hiring the right influencer for your brand so you do see an ROI.

Stop looking at followers. Stop even looking at the comments and the quality of the comments. I am going to show you a shortcut that will foolproof Instagram influencer marketing to ensure you never worked with the wrong influencer.

Okay, so let’s go into my Instagram.

The first thing you’re gonna do is you’re going to start on your homepage and you’re going to tap on the hamburger.

Then you are going to tap on insights.

Now, there’s a lot of information here in insights, but for the basis of this video and seeing how influential on Instagram influencer is, we’re going to tap on content and then I want to look at the feed posts… and I like to filter the past 30 days just to make sure I’m super-current.

Here you can look at a lot of things.

Instagram Engagement & Instagram Impressions

Engagement is important and impressions are great for seeing everything overall, but this is what you want a potential Instagram influencer to send you – these numbers because they show how many people have actually seen the post and the whole purpose of using an Instagram influencer is to get your brand out there more.

So we’re going to be looking at impressions for the past 30 days for all of the feed posts.

Now the number of followers a person has does not matter if these followers don’t see the posts and they’re not engaging with the posts.

So, make sure that you’re getting these insights from potential Instagram influencers before you’re working with them.

So, I like looking at impressions because that shows how many people have actually seen the post. So, if an impression is 5,000 to 7,000 and you want to get in front of 5,000 to 7,000 people, great!

A lot of people use these numbers to also determine how much an influencer’s audience and work is worth. So somebody who has 100 impressions, they may not be worth that much to your brand, but if they have 7,000 impressions, then you should probably pay them something because it’s not easy to get in front of 7,000 people.

And then, you can also look at engagement. The higher the engagement, the more you should pay the influencer.

So, these numbers make it so easy for you to determine not only which Instagram influencer to work with, but how much you should budget to pay them for their work and for their audience.

People always want to go to how many followers does somebody have on Instagram, but those followers don’t mean anything if they’re not actually seeing the posts and this little trick shows you exactly how many people are seeing the post, how many people are engaging with it, and so much more.

There’s so much more you can get into on insights, but I wanted to keep it simple for this video so you can quickly see if an influencer is worth your time and your money… and we can’t get those numbers if we don’t see what you’re posting on Instagram.
