  • We will find out what the relevant hashtags are on Twitter, Instagram, etc. so you can find media and influencers. By knowing what language they use and what terms they are searching online, you will know what language to use to draw them in.

  • How does current news fit into your niche? We will consistently work on the timely aspect of pitching the media and why your story needs to be covered now.
  • We will learn what editorial calendars are and how you can find them so you know what the media is planning to cover months ahead of time and how you can get in on that coverage in the major glossy magazines.

WEEK 3: By the end of this week, you will know what platforms to use to hit your short-term goal and long-term goal – and why they may be different

  • What is your goal? We really dive into why you want media coverage and what you want people to do after you earn the coverage because this will set the tone for how you promote yourself and to whom.
  • Based on your audience, we identified the platforms in week one. Now, we are going to get even more specific and go from the outlet to the section or topic.

WEEK 4: By the end of this week, you will know how to build a real relationship before you ask for anything

  • Craft an initial pitch that will get attention so you will get a response as it relates to the subject line, body, method of outreach, etc.
  • Following up is a must… and it’s an art. Learn how to do in a way that isn’t annoying and works in your favor to get more visibility for your brand.

WEEK 6: By the end of this week, you will know how to make the media come to you because you’re an expert (and they need you)

WEEK 8: By the end of this week, you will know how to leverage the media you are earning to turn it into even more media opportunities

  • Learn how to turn one media hit into another one so your visibility snowballs.
  • You can turn yourself into a regular in the media by handling PR for the PR you earned making it look like even more coverage and increasing your credibility in your niche.

WEEK 9: By the end of this week, you will know how to be found online using different forms of PR that don’t involve the traditional media. (It’s very 2018!)
